Chris Lumbayo – Dating OFW Nag-Abroad dahil sa Kawalan ng Hanapbuhay at Maliit na Pasuweldo sa PH – Part 1

Finding work that pays well is no easy task, especially in a third world country like the Philippines. Every month our kababayans, particularly bread winners, struggle to fit their salaries into an acceptable budget. Even wage increases today are out-priced by the expenses of everyday life.  

This is mainly the reason why so many Filipinos seek employment overseas. Being a family-oriented nation, most OFWs choose to work abroad solely to earn more than enough for their families. The same can be said for Mr. Chris Lumbayo. 

As someone who didn’t come from much, Chris, like every OFW out there, wished for a better life for his family. For ten long years, he strived to make that better life a reality, tackling the complexities of OFW life. After a decade overseas, he finally came home just as the pandemic hit. 

So what is it that made him stay even after the pandemic was over? Mr. Lumbayo shares the answer to that question, along with his story of readjusting to domestic life, what exactly was it about the father-son duo of Jaime Lao Sr/Jr that inspired him to join their team, and what they hope to accomplish for the municipality of Santa Cruz.
