DMW Assures Support to OFW After NAIA Car-Ramming Kills Daughter, Injures Family

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) expressed its deep sorrow and committed full support to a Europe-bound overseas Filipino worker (OFW) whose four-year-old daughter was killed in a car-ramming incident at NAIA Terminal 1 on Sunday morning, May 4, 2025.

The OFW’s wife remains in critical condition in the hospital, while his mother—also injured—is now in stable condition. “We fervently pray for the fast recovery of his wife and ask for continued prayers of healing for all those affected,” the DMW said in a statement.

The DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), in coordination with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC), have begun extending all necessary assistance to the OFW and his family.

The DMW also committed to support the OFW in relaying the reason for his absence to his current employer abroad, helping ensure understanding of his emergency situation. “The Department joins the bereaved OFW and his family in their strong plea to bring the perpetrator of this tragedy to justice,” the DMW statement added.
