From Abroad to Homegrown: OFW Duo Turns Overseas Venture into Local Success

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, many lost their livelihood, businesses were shut down, and many were left uncertain of what the future holds. Even after life returned to normal, the question remains, “Can businesses recover fast enough from the crisis?” Some businesses are still struggling, while some unfortunately were not able to reopen. But with hard work, perseverance, skills and vision, success will likely follow. And sometimes success comes from where we least expect it, not from working abroad, but by taking risks in your own backyard. In this episode of the Bantay OCW, meet Maker & Made’s Rue and Elaine, two OFWs who took the leap that changed their lives. Find out how their small business abroad came home with them and found success here in the Philippines.
