DMW Ready to Activate Contingency Plan for OFWs in Taiwan Amid Emergency Situations
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) affirmed its readiness to activate contingency measures for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Taiwan, in coordination with the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and the Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs) in the region.
DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac assured the public that the department is working closely with MECO Chairperson and Resident Representative Cheloy E. Garafil to implement contingency measures, if needed.
“We thank MECO Chairperson Garafil for her leadership and assurance of the general well- being of our OFWs, in close coordination with Taiwan authorities,” Cacdac said.
The DMW emphasized that it remains vigilant in monitoring developments and is fully prepared to ensure the safety and protection of all Filipino migrant workers in Taiwan.
To OFWs and their families, the DMW urges everyone to remain calm, stay alert, and rely only on verified government channels for updates. The Philippine government, Cacdac stressed, is committed to the protection and welfare of every OFW.
