“Team Builders, building the future of Santa Cruz” (Part 2)

“It really takes experiencing the problem to understand the solution.” This is a perfect way to describe the political career of former Mayor Jaime “Jun” Lao Jr. of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. As an engineer and business man, Mr. Lao Jr. had his fair share of responsibility, providing public service for the people of Santa Cruz. But even though he was helping his constituents , Mr. Lao Jr knew he could do more. And so he began his political career as a councilor, then vice mayor, until he became mayor after six years of public service. His term, which began during the pandemic, focused on maintaining employment for the people of his community and providing basic necessities. After the pandemic, Mr. Lao Jr. focused building better infrastructure to further develop Santa Cruz, and provide outreach programs creating livelihood for women and prevent the youth from falling victim to harmful substances such as drugs. Now that Jun Lao aspires to return serving Sta. Cruz, along with Team Builders, he aims to continue the work that has yet to be completed during his previous term.
