Launching a New Era for Bantay OCW Foundation, Inc. - Our New Affiliates: OFNMEDIA.NET and OFN Cooperative

A new chapter for the Bantay OCW Foundation is about to start.  Together with the celebration of its 27th anniversary, The Bantay OCW Foundation launches  its official media outlet: Overseas Filipino Network Inc. (OFN), also operating and will be more widely known as OFN MEDIA.

OFN Media aims to build on the achievements of Bantay OCW Foundation, but on a larger scale. Its programs will deliver trustworthy and accurate information to become the primary media source for Overseas Filipinos worldwide.

OFN Media will produce content that focuses exclusively on themes concerning OFWs, including news, documentaries about life abroad, legal matters, financial education, women empowerment, and maritime news for seafarers.

These programs and many more will be available in the official OFN Media website OFNMEDIA.NET. Through this expansion, Bantay OCW and now OFN MEDIA  seek to extend its public service even further, by giving back to the community and enhancing the quality of life for OFWs everywhere.

“When you are in a position to help others, there is no reason not to do so.” This motto perfectly describes the spirit of the OFN Cooperative, a newly formed cooperative dedicated to creating positive change.

Under the wing of the Overseas Filipino Network Incorporated (OFNI), the OFN Cooperative was established to embody the OFNI’s objective of giving back through service and advancing its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The OFN’s mission is to give back to the community through various projects which includes empowerment by offering accessible basic human services, providing financial literacy, supporting livelihood programs, and organizing medical outreach programs.

Through these projects, the OFN seeks to inspire positive change in the communities it serves. It aims to instill people with the knowledge needed to secure a financially stable future for them and their families, provide aid to those in need, and assist in opening doors to new opportunities.

THE BANTAY OCW FOUNDATION JOURNEY

Founded in 1997, The Bantay OCW Foundation has stayed true to its one goal: the improvement of the lives of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) worldwide. This objective has been Bantay OCW Foundation’s vital moral compass throughout its history.

The foundation’s public service program, Bantay OCW with Ms. Susan K., is the country’s longest running multi-awarded public service program. The program has withstood the test of time as an ally to OFWs by addressing the struggles and challenges that these brave Filipinos face abroad.

Since its inception, the Bantay OCW Foundation has been instrumental in providing support to thousands of OFWs, whether land- or sea-based, in times of need. Bantay OCW Foundation’s selfless devotion to these Filipino heroes is what helped it earn recognition in television and radio.

Bantay OCW with Ms. Susan K. has also claimed numerous prestigious awards, including the Best Public Service Program. It has earned a place in the Catholic Mass Media Awards and Gawad Tanglaw Awards’ Hall of Fame, with Ms. Susan K. as Best TV & Radio Public Service Program Host. The program has also been honored twice in the KBP Golden Dove Awards Hall of Fame roster.

Through thick and thin, Bantay OCW Foundation Inc. has stood firm to its main objective. Even now, 27 years later, its commitment to public service remains strong.

As it marks 27 years of service, the Bantay OCW Foundation, in partnership with the INQUIRER family, reaffirms its commitment to serving Overseas Filipinos for years to come.
